What’s your favorite thing to do when you aren’t writing/producing/playing etc?

I love chilling with friends and family because they inspire me the most for making music.

Have you always enjoyed the art of music?
Thoyiz
Yeah, from as young as two years old my mom told me I was able to memorise and sing lyrics of songs, and my family has always been a family that comes together with music so I’ve always had a strong connection with music.

When did you first start writing and What did your family do to encourage you?
Thoyiz
Lol that’s actually a funny story because I was never encouraged to do music, I started writing my own material when I was 12 years old, whenever I used to get a hiding for being naughty, I always took my pen and pad and started writing with tears in my eyes lol which would make me get a hiding even more when they found things I was writing, so me doing music was never really embraced as a career but it was my escape from things that were happening around me at that time.

Who else in your family sings?

Lol we all sing really koda 2 of my uncles decided to take it as a career, they do kwaito.

Who are your musical inspirations?
Thoyiz
I listen to a lot of Drake, his approach to music really inspires me to take my own route and do it to the fullest, and Of course my Qembu EscombePlaasMusic, we’re on the same page of creating beautiful music and I’m really feeling what we do.

Lol I wouldn’t be embarrassed really koda nje I’m a big R&b fan, I love Brandy’s Full moon album though, that’s as embarrassing as it gets lol

Where would you most like to perform?

Anywhere that has a big crowd nje zyasha, but when I’m big and famous, I’d like to go back to my hometown eMandeni and go all out.

Local acts would be AKA or Prokid, internationally would be Lil Wayne, Drake or Jay Z (not in any particular order).

If you weren’t singing, what would you be doing?

I’m capable of doing a lot of things if I put my mind to it, koda I can’t Imagine myself doing anything else besides music, its the only thing I sincerely love doing, I feel like I was born for this lol.

If you could dabble in another genre of music, what would it be?
Thoyiz
R&B for sure, I’ve already started writing a few material for R&B and its coming out good, so nje I’ma get on it full time.

It has to be that loud Rock Music, I don’t have a problem with it koda nje, I’m just waay to Zulu for that type of music lol.

Tell me a little more about your upcoming project LET IT BE KNOWEN how far are you with it and the release date

Yeah mfethu the release date is on the 1st of May and I’m excited about the mixtape, its just going to be six of the hottest tracks which I really worked hard on, its very different from anything Durban and South Africa has ever heard.

What hidden talents do you have?

I’m a very good cricket and soccer player (so I’d like to think lol), those are the two sports I played throughout my teen years and I still enjoy playing till this day.
